Berkeley Electric helps plant nearly 2000 trees
I have read from the Count on 2 news that Berkeley Electric has contributed to planting approximately 2,000 trees in the Lowcountry. During Berkeley Electric Cooperative's annual Arbor Day offer, 800 trees were sold, bringing the total number of trees distributed to 1,950. Members can get various varieties of flowering trees at half price at the annual sale. A Red Gold Nectarine, Yoshino Cherry, White Flowering Dogwood, and a Chaste tree were chosen for their ability to thrive in the Lowcountry this year. Earlier this week, Berkeley Electric celebrated Arbor Day by planting a symbolic tree at a nearby Habitat for Humanity site. During this year's sale, those who bought trees can pick them up at the Moncks Corner or Johns Island district offices on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Unclaimed trees will be discarded.
